Every item remembers where it came from — an email, a Teams thread, a meeting — and whose move is next. What you owe sits under Action; what others owe you sits under Waiting, so a promise made to you is never lost just because someone else is late.
Claude and ChatGPT users
Connect your assistant over MCP and it reads and maintains the same list you do. Overnight it proposes additions and completions, each with a reason — and nothing lands until you approve it. Turn the same thing down three times and it proposes a rule, enforced on the server from then on.

What is What Matters?
A tracker for action items — the things that actually need you. Three sections keep it honest: Action for what you owe, Waiting for what others owe you, and Notes for what is worth knowing but needs no action. Anything due today or earlier rises to the top on its own.
How does the AI keep my list?
You mint a connection on the Connections page and hand it to Claude or ChatGPT. From then on your assistant can read the list and propose changes — every suggestion arrives with a reason, and you accept or reject each one. Nothing is ever written without your approval.
Which AI assistants work with it?
Anything that speaks MCP, the Model Context Protocol — Claude and ChatGPT both do. The same protocol powers the overnight review: your assistant reads your mail, chat and calendar where you have connected them, and proposes what belongs on the list.
How is it different from a to-do list app?
A to-do list or task manager holds what you type into it. What Matters also tracks tasks you did not type: your AI proposes them from your mail, chat and meetings, tells you why, and learns from every rejection. And it splits the list by whose move it is — your tasks, and the ones you are waiting on.
What does it cost?
It is free to start — sign in with Google or Apple and the account is yours, no card asked. A Pro subscription raises the limits for heavier AI use.
Where does my data live?
In your own account, behind your Google or Apple sign-in. AI connections are scoped tokens you create and revoke yourself — each one sees only your list, and cutting it off is one click.
Is there a phone app?
An iPhone and iPad app is in the works — coming soon. Until then the web app is built to be used from a phone, and the list is the same one everywhere.
